Today’s snapshot comes from one of my most favourite areas on earth – France’s Loire Valley. A truly magical place, the Loire Valley is home to so many breathtaking ancient castles and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. I could spend days roaming the manicured castle gardens and imagining life in these huge lofty castles that were once home to France’s royalty and upper classes. Some of these “chateaux” are still owned and inhabited by families whose ancestors lived in them in centuries past.
This shot from the gardens at Chateau de Villandry is just a glimpse at some of the beauty that can be found in the Loire Valley and a reminder that I need to go back soon for my “chateau fix!”
