Saturday Snapshot – Romania

This stunning wintertime shot comes from the important Romanian city of Sibiu.  Known as a cultural centre and recognised as a “European Capital of Culture” several years ago, this mountainside city is full of history and quite picturesque.  While it’s small in size and population, Sibiu has become a hotspot for winter sports enthusiasts and is apparently a fantastic place for skiing.

Though I’ve never been to Romania, perhaps a trip outside of Bucharest is in order as Sibiu looks absolutely lovely!

    Kathryn, it is lovely. You should go. The city still keeps much of its late medieval charm. Good museums and great food await (and some friendly people as well).
