For many, travelling means seeing all the typical sites in a city. In Paris, it’s the Eiffel Tower, in London, Parliament and Big Ben and in New York City, Central Park. However, travel can be just as enjoyable and sometimes more so when seeking out things to see that are off the beaten path. Today’s post features the perfect example of something to see in a big city that you’ll remember forever!
Known to some as New York City’s “Piano Project” but officially called “Play Me I’m Yours,” this highly interactive and fantastic public art installation has been touring the globe since 2008. With sixty pianos installed in public places throughout New York City, visitors to the city can stop to enjoy an impromptu performance or play one of their own.

As a huge fan of both music and public art, I would be delighted to stumble upon one of these pianos in the middle of such a busy metropolis. Have a look at the official website of the project to see where pianos are located if you’ll be travelling to New York soon. If you’re not able to make it there to see for yourself, enjoy this video in the meantime which is a perfect example of the beauty that can be found at each of these pianos throughout New York City.
