World’s Ten Best Places to Live – Zurich, Switzerland

After last week’s look at number three on the list of best places to live, Geneva, Switzerland, we don’t have to travel far to visit number two on the list – Zurich, Switzerland!

Though the city itself is relatively small in size and population, Zurich and its surrounding areas have about 2 million inhabitants.  Calm and peaceful due to majestic surrounding natural features of lakes and mountains, Zurich is a major transportation hub and has the busiest airport in Switzerland which connects many European nations to one another.

A major financial centre, Zurich has some of the lowest business taxes and encourages international businesses to set up their headquarters in the city.  This means an impressive number of international businesspeople call Zurich home and also suggests that there is plenty of employment opportunity and diversity.

However, Zurich is not just all about business.  Known by some as the “Cultural Capital of Switzerland,” there are plenty of cultural and artistic activities to keep you busy in the city.  From galleries to museums and the theatre to outdoor parks, Zurich offers both residents and visitors with plenty to do in their spare time!
