After featuring Auckland, New Zealand last week as the fourth spot on the “Ten Best Places to Live” list, today we’re taking a closer look at number three on the top ten list, Geneva, Switzerland.
A huge global financial centre that also happens to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful lakes, Geneva has so much to offer and so many reasons why it would fall at number three on the list.

Known by some as “The Peace Capital” as it’s the European home to the United Nations, Geneva attracts businesspeople, politicians and worldwide peacekeepers because of the number of different companies and government entities that are based here.

Geneva is one of the most compact metropolitan areas in the world, meaning that it’s quite easy to travel from place to place either on foot or by taking advantage of their excellent public transportation system. Proximity to the Alps makes this city popular with fans of the outdoors as there are plenty of ski stations in close range to Geneva. A small population also means that the city doesn’t ever feel overly crowded as large European city centres often are.

The stunning architecture combined with the clean air and majestic natural features of Geneva make it a lovely place to visit or live.
