Located on the Rhine River, Düsseldorf hosts many different outdoor festivals and is a major cultural hub in the region.  Known as the fashion capital of Germany, Düsseldorf also has become an important player in the telecommunications market with plenty of job opportunities in this sector.

One of the things that I like best about the photographs I’ve seen of Düsseldorf is the sheer number of beautiful sculptures found in the streets.  It seems as though these gorgeous works of art can be found around every corner, a fantastic sliver of culture that’s a part of everyday life here.

Düsseldorf is also a city that has placed great importance on open space. From the wide walkways on the banks of the Rhine to the large Nordpark, Düsseldorf has plenty of spots that encourage taking leisurely walks, sunbathing with a book or just stopping at a bench to sit and watch the world go by.

Want to experience Düsseldorf for yourself? Summer is a great time to visit. Take advantage of rock-bottom return fares and see if Düsseldorf is somewhere that you could call home.  Fly from London to Düsseldorf for a long weekend in late August from only £27 return.  From Manchester to Düsseldorf from £77 return or from Dublin to Düsseldorf from £104 the same weekend!
