Our series on street art is back this Friday with a special focus on Amsterdam. With its gorgeous canals and famous museums including works of Van Gogh, Rembrandt and other masters, Amsterdam certainly has no shortage of interesting works to admire and visit. However, I always say that you can learn a lot about a city by the types of artistic expression you can find in the streets – what do these pieces say to you?

An extremely colourful and whimsical scene of elated fish on the side of a truck moving through the city. Mobile street art!

This one cracks me up for some reason – a simple stencil with a quote from popular American TV series “Seinfeld.”

Sometimes street art can be find high and low. You’d have to look carefully to spot this little ladybug in the stones on the pavement.

Ahoy matey! Thar be a pirate stencil, ye scallywags!
For me, the street art in Amsterdam reflects the spirit of the city – fun, funky and “anything goes!” I’m looking forward to traveling back to Amsterdam to see what types of art I can spot during my canal-side strolls. You can travel there yourself, with flights from London to Amsterdam for a city break this spring starting at only £69 return on EasyJet.
